Hi, I'm Nazli!

I'm an academic coach and tutor specializing in ACT, SAT, Math, Physics and Chemistry. I build student confidence through personalized strategies and content mastery, support those with test anxiety using mindfulness techniques, and help students discover their unique learning styles—setting them up for lifelong success beyond just test scores.

Testimonials

“Nazli has been helping my daughter with physics concepts for the last month. She has accomplished more in 6 sessions that my daughter’s teacher did all semester. Nazli is thorough, patient, knowledgeable and very interested in her students’ success. She is prompt, reliable and flexible. I would highly recommend Nazli for your tutoring needs.”

– Pam P. Denver, CO

“Nazli is a quiet wonder. She has the gift of instilling calm and confidence in her students. My son used her for Chemistry. She not only helped him pass this class with a solid B, but helped him enjoy it. As a result, I believe he will retain more of the information. If my son had not worked with Nazli, I believe he would have had very different “chemistry” experience.”

– LJ, Denver CO

“I don’t know where we would have been without Nazli! She showed superhuman patience, calm and compassion for our very anxious 17 year old. My goal was for my daughter to be able to sit for the exam without having an anxiety attack. Nazli empowered her so much that not only did she take the test, raise her score by three points, but is also showing an interest in taking the test again to improve on her score. Nazli is the perfect tutor for anyone who struggles with anxiety.”

My approach

My approach to teaching is to guide my students with acquiring content skills as well as to help them develop the confidence they need to succeed. I listen carefully to my students and work with them to devise learning strategies that work for them. Every student is unique and each tutoring session is tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. No cookie cutter strategies here!

My students learn to appreciate real-world applications of the concepts that they grapple with making learning fun and relevant. What may appear to be a complicated problem at first, quickly becomes something quite easy to solve, much to the relief of my students!

With the ACT & SAT, I start with a diagnostic to pinpoint areas for improvement. From there, I create a personalized review plan with tailored strategies, including time management and pacing. For some, test anxiety can hold them back. I teach mindfulness and anxiety management techniques to help students stay calm and focused.

My students have gone on to attend universities of their choice including top universities and high schools such as Harvard, Princeton, Berkeley, the University of Chicago, and Phillips Exeter Academy.

My goal is not just to help students succeed in their courses, but to equip them with the skills and confidence they need for lifelong learning and success.

Who's Nazli?

I graduated from the University of Michigan with my doctorate in geology specializing in seismology. The world of earthquakes is a fascinating one, a study of the inner workings of our planet by “listening” to it. Seismic waves (p-waves in particular), are just acoustic waves traveling through the earth allowing seismologists to create maps of the earth’s interior not unlike the early cartographers who created maps of the earth’s landforms and oceans.

My academic experiences include research at Princeton University and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, along with faculty positions at Colorado State University and the University of Denver.

I enjoy volunteering at Project Angel Heart and for many years, volunteered at the Denver Hospice with my registered therapy dog, Olive, whose gentle presence brought comfort to many before she passed away.

When not teaching and volunteering, I’m often found in Colorado’s wilderness, camera in hand. My passion for photography has evolved into “Seeing in Stillness“—a project combining mindfulness with photography to reveal the hidden beauty in quiet moments.

Select Publications:

“Since 10th Grade my daughter had struggled with her STEM classes and consequently had developed test anxiety. We had employed several tutors over the last year with limited improvement. Finally last fall I found Nazli. She has been very instrumental in my daughter’s current success in school. She is kind, thoughtful, and patient. Her knowledge and gift for teaching has helped my daughter gain the confidence she was missing. Both my daughter and I feel so very lucky that she have been able to work with such a special person.”

Why ThinkEuclid?

Over 10 years ago, while brainstorming a name for my academic coaching company, I was inspired by Euclid, the father of geometry. I’ve always enjoyed learning about the history of math and science, which led me to the name ThinkEuclid — a reflection of my belief that true understanding comes from thinking critically and exploring concepts deeply.

Euclid was a brilliant Greek thinker who lived around 300 BCE and revolutionized how we understand mathematics. His famous work “Elements” broke down complex ideas into simple, learnable steps – much like how we approach learning today.

His methodical problem-solving techniques continue to inspire students and educators alike, showing us that even the most challenging concepts can become clear with the right guidance and approach.
